Taking that into perspective, we have narrowed down few steps one should carry in case his/her smartphone gets lost.

STEP 1:

First and foremost thing after buying a smartphone is to write down the IMEI number of your phone. Every smartphone has a unique IMEI number (International Mobile Equipment Identity Number). A dual SIM phone will have 2 IMEI number. It will also be printed on the back of your device’s packaging. If you are unable to find the number, you have to launch your phone app and dial the number *#06#. This will give you the IMEI number of your phone. Store this number in a safe place so that it helps you in locating your phone when it is lost. Another way of finding an IMEI number is by logging intogoogle dashboard account.

If your phone gets lost, you can file a Police complaint by filling up this form (download here) and submitting it to the Regional Police Unit Office (Hanuman Dhoka, Teku for Kathmandu Valley users). You have to provide IMEI number of your phone while filing a police complaint and then your service provider (NTC/NCell) uses this IMEI number to track your phone. Also, make sure that you block the SIM card that was being used in the handset. This will force the thief to replace the SIM, which will help us find his/her identity.

How IMEI tracking works?

Your Network provider will blacklist the IMEI number(s) which you provided while filing a complaint and when the thief inserts a new SIM on that phone, the BTS (Tower) will receive the details of the new SIM inserted. From that details of the new SIM, you will know the thief’s name and all the details.

STEP 2:

Download Google’s Android Device Manager (Link). If you lose your phone, you can just visit www.google.com/android/devicemanager website and locate it with your Google account. Using this, you can find it on a map, ring it, lock it, or remotely erase it. This service will be the best option for most Android users.

 STEP 3:

Turn on Photos sync on Google photos or use DropBox. Syncing your camera photos can be a good idea. A clever idea indeed, if it works. The suspected thief can use your camera and click some selfies or photos and you can view their photos from your google plus account.

STEP 4:

Inform your friends and family of the theft. It’s possible that the thief may try to impersonate you through social media or via SMS.

I have shared two methods.Method 1 is a manual method and requires no installing of any software or add-on whilst Method 2 requires installing a Mozilla add-on called FasterFox and requires sign up for an account.Method 2 is much easier than Method 1.

First Method

1. Open your Mozilla Firefox Browser.
2. In the address bar type "about:config" and hit enter.

A warning message will open. Simply click the button with this message “I’ll be careful, I promise!”
3. In the filter bar type "network.http.pipelining" as shown below,

Double click "network.http.pipelining" , this will change the default false value to true as shown above.

4. Now in the filter bar type "network.http.proxy.pipelining"  and then double click it to    change its value to true as we did for step 3.

5. Now locate this "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" Right click it and select Modify.


The default value is 4 so set it to 8.
6. Now clear the filter bar, so to get on the main page. On the same page where you are i.e about:config, Right click on any blank space, then select New > Boolean

name it "network.http.pipelining.firstrequest" and hit OK


Now when asked to enter Boolean value, select true and click OK.
7.   Right Click on any blank space and select New > Integer

Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and hit OK


When asked for integer value set it to 0

8. Restart your browser and enjoy the new browsing speed!! Enjoy ;)

We know this is convenient but since you’re not typing your passwords any-more, eventually you’ll forget your password in a few days.  For security reasons, the password field in all browsers is masked with “asterisks” which won’t allow any third person (even you) to read the origi-nal typed password. But, what if you want to reveal the string behind the asterisks? There is actually few workaround for revealing the original passwords behind the asterisk and over the entire course of this article we’ll be discussing some known ways to reveal the characters behind the asterisks in different browsers.

Google Chrome:

Starting off with Google chrome, the easiest way to reveal the original passwords behind the asterisk is using inbuilt Inspect element feature in the browser.

• You just need to right click on the password field in the browser where you will get an option "Inspect Element". 
• After clicking on it, "Web Inspector" will open out and there you can see some code which is basically Html code and you just need to replace the "password" word with "text" word and it will reveal the words behind the asterisks.

There’s another way using JavaScript which is quite quick and easy as compared to above method. Just open a site that allows users to login and after typing the password, just enter the following JavaScript code in the address bar.

After entering the above code in the address bar, press enter and it will pop up a window with your password written on it.

This hack fakes your computer into thinking that those problem sites live on your hard drive — although obviously they don’t — and forces a Server Not Found error when your fingers impulsively type that tempting, time-sucking URL.
Here’s what to do.
Windows

1. Open Notepad or some other text editor (in Windows 7, you need to open your text editor with elevated privileges by right-clicking the editor and clicking Run as Administrator); then open the file named hosts, which is located in the following directory: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC.
2. Add the following on its own line in the hosts file:

127.0.0.1 ebay.com facebook.com evilex.com

Replace the sites listed with the domains that you want to block.
Mac OS X

1. In Finder, choose Go ⇒ Go to Folder.
2. In the Go to Folder dialog, type /etc/.
3. From the /etc/ folder window, locate the hosts file and Cmd+click it. From the context menu, choose Get Info. In the Ownership & Permissions area, set You Can to Read & Write.
4. Now open the hosts file in a text editor.
5. Add the following on its own line in the hosts file:

127.0.0.1 ebay.com facebook.com evilex.com

Replace the sites listed with the domains that you want to block.
The Result
After you complete the steps for your operating system, save the hosts file and quit your editor.
Now when you visit one of your blocked sites, you get a Server Not Found error. (If you’re running a web server at home, as detailed in Hack 71, “Run a Home Web Server,” your own server’s files appear.)
The advantage of this method over Hack 39, “Limit Visits to Time-Wasting Websites” is that the sites are blocked from every browser, not just Chrome (StayFocusd) or Firefox (LeechBlock), on that computer. The downside is that when you decide it’s an okay time to browse eBay, you have to manually comment out the following line in the hosts file by adding a # to the beginning of the line, like this:
